A new land had opened up. Everything from last month was in the past. in the bright full moon, a lush garden came into view. the unicorns tended it with their magic of eternal spring. many fruits and flowers grew there.
There were certain foods considered sacred and seasonal in this land. For meat, there was chicken, pork, grey shrimp, and turkey. if one wanted a snack, there were pretzels, waffles, and fries with a dip of mayonnaise, Hollandaise or dijonnaise dressing. Those with a sweet tooth choose chocolate, pies, and tartlets as their treats.
A lighter end to a meal could be fruit. The three fruit crops grown in the magic garden were pears, apples, and grapes. each had their own flavor and personality. Apples were rustic and had a lustful temper. Pears were pure and innocent. Grapes are fun and carefree. a few vegetables such as endive, brussel sprouts, and asparagus, could be found as well.
Many flowers could fill a picker's basket. The flowers were also full of symbolism. The iris was a way to give a message. Aster cried tears over the stars and made new ones on earth. There were many thoughts as there were pansies in the garden. Periwinkles gave pleasure to memory.Morning glories were bittersweet, representing love in vain and death of a broken heart. A little blue flower did not want you to forget it. The strongest scents came from the cream colored roses which came to represent the desire to reject love and remain single.
Artemis was goddess and queen. she was wild and hunted where she pleased. She rejected love and marriage and chose her own fate. She had her own symbols and garden. She only used plates and forks made from silver. Silver too were her jewelry and archery set. The exotic date palm was sacred to her. Most wild beasts were associated with her. She was a goddess of the moon, hunting, and virginity.
Artemis' mother Leto Vergetelheid was also to be revered as a goddess on her own right. She had her own symbols and stories. Leto was a princess born into a great family. She fell in love with a great king named Jover Schijnen. Jover gave Leto a bottle of nectar and a oublie. Jover was still married to a wicked witch named Maria Van Pauw. when she found Leto was pregnant with Jover's child. she put a curse on her.
She used her powers so Leto was unable to give birth on firm ground. Leto ran ragged all over, searching for a place to birth her burden. She finally rested on an island floating in the middle of the sea. under a date palm tree, she pushed the queen Artemis out into the world.
Leto sent her daughter away into the woods when the girl was becoming a woman. there she would be safe from the evil Maria. Leto started developing her cult. Her followers were the kind of men who changed their shape to that of wolves every night. She raised silky ermines for their fur as extra income. The moon rooster was also seen as holy, bringing the hot sun to rest and letting the moon's silver beauty impasse everything around it. When it was time to go to market, Leto flew through the air in a carriage pulled by griffins. her long white veil blew behind her among the clouds.
Evil took many forms, so did Artemis. one time long ago, she was reincarnated as the Empress Diane. The following stories took place in the country of Maan and the city of Ephesus. The marriage of Blauwbaard Van Pauw and Maria was taking place. Maria's heart was heavy with many things. there was talk of a rebellion against her power. Blauwbaard was the richest nobleman in the land, but he had many dark secrets. Maria was planning on leaving her old life behind by marrying him.
She needed a place to hide from the Iron King and plot her revenge of the kingdom of Longtrellis. she had used her magic to curse the two Longtrellis princesses, but feared what would happen if they got together. one princess was lost in the forest, the other was in a death like coma, lasting almost one hundred years.
There was also a foul creature reported to lurk in the city. she smelled and looked foul. the bitter hag lusted for food and men. She rode on a one horned steed made to mock the shape of the innocent unicorn. this horse was no gentle creature, it bathed in blood and delighted in lust and carnage. decent people stayed clear of the hag and her Anticorn.
The village artist had dreams of being a fashion designer. all the people in the land brought his designs. He became very famous. Deep Blue and Burgundy are the hot fashion this season colors. the other colors in the fashion rainbow were Tan, Carnelian, Jade, Cream, Periwinkle, and Jet Black. Agnis Sorel is a model and Inspiration in September. She influenced food and Fashion. when all other ladies wore a kirtle under their v-neck gowns, she bared all cleavage and showed it off with a fleur de lis pendant between her breasts.
At her toilette table, her beauty aides included a bath of donkey milk, snail slime to tighten her pores, cuttlefish bones to whiten her skin, and red poppy petals to rouge her lips. The lady then shaved all the hair on her forehead and tied a black velvet band with a loop to accent her long face.
At the table and in the kitchen, Agnis could be found making delicious concoctions. simple and complex dishes could be found side by side in her recipe book. heavy meat pies were replaced with light fruit tarts and a new way of garnishing food was named in Agnis' honor. To eat in true Agnis' fashion, one must serve any dish with a topping of button mushrooms, breast of waterfowl or chicken, chopped beef tongue, and bread crumbs or a slice of fried bread, all simmered in a simple butter gravy.
The prince was asleep in his tower. He dared not venture too far from his opulence. outside, there was danger in many forms. the bitter hag of the sea was near and with her brought the plague. people lived in fear and horror, living isolated lives. The evil king of iron was also someone to loathe and fear. He had a goal to take over the world, kill all plants and life and replace them with iron buildings and spikes in his glory. people wanted him out of the government. He was the main enemy of Maria Van Pauw. life could be sweet sometimes, for the prince had made an Agnis pie with the pears and figs he had picked yesterday.
